Description From Sheryl Of Her Restoration

So excited to finally get this Gorgeous doll available for a new Mommy to love and cherish her.  As you know she was manufactured by IDEAL TOY CORP.  She is 22" and she is one of the famed Saucy Walker Dolls that were copied by so many companies in the fifties.  IDEAL sold more walking dolls back then like her than any other company did at that time.

Dr. Hubby has taken her apart and made sure her walking mechanism is working perfectly.  Merely hold her hand to walk her. Her arms and head are strung with our surgical elastic cord tubing.  She has been sanded to being out the soft look to the plastic and her hands and knees have been blushed.  She looks nearly new. He has also blushed her cheeks. Photos always makes the blushing darker than it is in the real.  Her original cheeks needed no blushing at all until I began playing around with trying to take two teenie tiny lil spots off her face and messed her gorgeous blushing up.  The little spots are gone though. She almost looks like she did when new, he did a beautiful job.  She was well taken care of before we received her.

Her crier is mute as most 22" Saucy Walker Dolls by Ideal are after years of storage and bath time with the the young mommies However, as I have said before, there was another doll who's crier I said was mute and when she was received by her new Mommy, she cried.  Have not figures that one out yet.

Her neck plate was not warped like most all the dolls we have seen are.  So her head can be posed very well and with ease as the head slides around on top of the neck plate.  You can lift her head a little to see how strong the band is that is holding her head on. We use all surgical elastic cord tubing on our dolls.  No fear of wearing out.  We suggest a spot of super glue on the back of her neck plate if you want only the head to look only straight forward and only to be moved by the movement of her legs.  We prefer the little girl look in display with the head posed.

Her eyes have been machine polished and her metal eye lids have been air brushed with our special Saucy Blend paint.  Her lashed are perfect and full.  Her eyes move freely from side to side as her head is leaned or if you lean her entire body as they were designed to do.  I have installed the platforms that I invented several years ago to prevent the sinking, crossing and rolling of her eyes.  Saucy Walker Dolls are known to have the wacky eyes after 50 years.  Possibly with the platforms inside her head they will not ever roll again, but no guaranties on that statement. We never know how the dolls we restore are treated. The right eye has no problem except the platform which the weights rest on tends to be higher and caused a tiny bit of her metal eye lid to show.  When I see that I merely put my fingernail under the lashes and push it up.  We have adjusted the price for her with that in mind.

Her hair is original and Gorgeous!  We have cleaned it thoroughly.  I have seen a couple dolls with bangs like hers.  They were in small curls with the pins holding them in place. I di not think this doll was intended to have the banana bangs.  The bangs do not appear to have been cut and the bangs are thicker than the dolls with the banana bangs.

From Judith Izen's Third Edition IDEAL DOLL Book: Showing A Saucy Walker With Thick Bangs And Curls.

Her replica dress with attached cotton slip and the three buttons and button holes in the back is fabulous and made by our seamstress Lois Pearson.  She is rather famous now for her ability to make such beautiful doll clothing and almost identical replica clothing for all dolls.  Make sure you see her web page by clicking on her doll clothing links throughout our site.

On the side (Free of charge) for those who love the older doll dresses, we are adding an original IDEAL Toy Corp SW 22" Doll Dress with attached slip to match an original ONESIE.  Her bows are double sided satin and stiffened for display.  Her Shoes are made also by IDEAL and her socks are replacement socks from Spain.  She also comes with a new Chubby waist Kaiser Doll Stand.

This is a Gorgeous doll and the photos do her no justice.  Make sure you read and look at all the images and descriptions about her before you decide.

God Bless and thank you for your interest.

Just an added note from Sheryl:

Our pricing on the dolls we sell are as reasonable as we can make them keeping in mind all the days and hours and top notch supplies it takes to get the dolls like new.  I say this because many who might not know of our reputation and may not take this into consideration and somehow forget that we have had to also purchase the doll as well and the quality Saucy Walker is getting more expensive as the time passes.  We are the only ones who offer the things that we do such as our own invented eye platforms to prevent the rolling and sinking of the eyes that Saucy Walker dolls are so famous for doing after 50 years of storage.  A new doll stand has always been sent out with each of our dolls and the replica hang tag that in time is expensive as well. From our site we also offer Lay-a-way on many of them and/or the Hold Doll option.

We do not have Saucy Walker dolls for sale very often and when we do they sell fast however, we do not make a big enough profit to cover the time it takes to make the dolls like new and because the IDEAL Saucy Walker is gaining in value quickly, our cost for the doll is rising higher with each passing month. We ask that you consider this when you purchase your Saucy Walker elsewhere and you find that she is not in the best condition, just remember to contact us and we will be glad to assist you and do all the work to make her the way you expected her to be. Please see our new site at:  http://saucywalkerdollhospital.com or http://saucywalkersdollhospital.com.

Each of our repair dolls under our Package "A" will have her own web page so you can follow along with her restoration progress.  You can find many that we working on or recently repaired under our BEFORE AND AFTER sections on the front page or our previous restorations as well on our Doll Hospital page.

Those from our own site please note:  If you should have questions, feel free to contact us but please also read our Frequently Asked Questions page. Before you purchase her make sure you read our Refund Policy on our page linked below:
