Description From Sheryl Of Her Restoration

She is a  Gorgeous 1950's Saucy Walker 22" Doll by: IDEAL Toy Corp. She is in great shape and was when we got her, no cracks or seam splits.  Her crier is mute.

Her walking mechanism was taken apart by Dr. Hubby and works perfectly.  Her head turns when she takes each step. You merely need to hold her hand to walk her.  She almost floats and takes big long steps.  She has been sanded and airbrushed to equal out her body color.  Her knees and hands have been blushed and sealed but her body has not been airbrushed. Her face paint and make-up is all original and beautiful.

Her eyes have been polished and they have our installed platforms to keep the eyes from rolling or sinking.  After she leaves here and because we have no idea how she will be handled, we do not guarantee the platforms. However from our own accidental testing of our invented installations (i.e. dropping a 22"SW doll long ago on her head) they came through with flying colors.

The eyes open and close very easily.  She has an excellent pair of very bright and shiny eyes, and in some lighting almost look cobalt blue.  They move from side to side as you also physically lean her from side to side as she was designed by the factory to be leaned.  Some Saucy Walker Dolls are a little more stubborn in moving the eyes back and forth which because of our platforms which are important to have installed... this one once had a stubborn effect.  HOWEVER, because of a genius invention recently by Dr. Hubby, this doll's eyes moves very well as she is leaned back and forth now.

We are excited about this new invention and will be adding it to all of our later model Saucy Walkers (made after 1953).  The doll was designed to be leaned back and forth so the weight on each eye would move.  The later dolls did not have the wonderful white stem with a swivel cut at the bottom but we have overcome the problems we encountered with the metal bottoms now that had to slide baack and forward on our platforms.  The metal on the eye mechanism caused the friction.  Now the eye slide with a new device and it is a genius invention.  Dr. Hubby is always inventing new techniques to make these dolls not only LOOK like new but now act like new.

Please see our videos below. The first video at the end, Dr. Hubby could not get her took us another video to show her eyes moving.  We are not "Pro's" at movie taking so thank you for your patience.

These dolls are 57 years or older and there are some Saucy Walkers who have eyes that are not separated perfectly.  They are not New dolls, they are restored by us to appear as new in the best way we can possibly make them. Please study all the photos very carefully.

She comes with her Original Dress that I have sewn a sash to around the waist  and also have replaced the relaxed elastic in her sleeves.  The dress from what we have seen has no tears nor holes and is made with attached panties.  The sash can be taken off and a light colored pinafore can be placed over the dress if you want a change in the look.

Lois ( has made her replica dress fashioned after an original that we once had. Keeping in mind some of the original dresses were made 57 years ago, it is hard, if not impossible, to find the exact lace and and materials of the 50's although Lois has closely matched with a similar lace the original lace without a doubt.  See the original taffeta dress the photo below.

Concerning her original hair: She has beautiful hair but had cut bangs.  She is our little Banana Bangs Ad girl (See Here) We took an identical saran wig and glued a hairpiece under her original wig where the bangs had been cut short.  Then used another swatch of that same wig and rolled the hair upward around that swatch to give it that delightful puff to her banana bangs.  They should be like this for another 50 years.

We highly recommend that our dolls be for display only and not played with.  They deserve the beauty and the rest after the past 50ish years they had to endure.  These dolls are valuable and children can never appreciate that value at such a young age.

Never store them in a heated room or attic or basement because the plastic can warp and cause the walking mechanism to not work well.  This doll walks long steps and easy...just merely hold her left arm to walk her on a table.

Just a Note From Sheryl:

Our pricing on the dolls we sell are as reasonable as we can make them keeping in mind all the days and hours and top notch supplies it takes to get the dolls like new.  I say this because many who might not know of our reputation and may not take this into consideration and somehow forget that we have had to also purchase the doll as well and the quality Saucy Walker is getting more expensive as the time passes.  We are the only ones who offer the things that we do such as our own invented eye platforms to prevent the rolling and sinking of the eyes that Saucy Walker dolls are so famous for doing after 50 years of storage.  A new doll stand has always been sent out with each of our dolls and the replica hang tag that in time is expensive as well. From our site we also offer Lay-a-way on many of them and/or the Hold Doll option.

We do not have Saucy Walker dolls for sale very often and when we do they sell fast however, we do not make a big enough profit to cover the time it takes to make the dolls like new and because the IDEAL Saucy Walker is gaining in value quickly, our cost for the doll is rising higher with each passing month. We ask that you consider this when you purchase your Saucy Walker elsewhere and you find that she is not in the best condition, just remember to contact us and we will be glad to assist you and do all the work to make her the way you expected her to be. Please see our new site at: or

Each of our repair dolls under our Package "A" will have her own web page so you can follow along with her restoration progress.  You can find many that we working on or recently repaired under our BEFORE AND AFTER sections on the front page or our previous restorations as well on our Doll Hospital page.

Ebay Buyers, purchase this doll only after you have studied the photos.  We promise the doll to look like new for a display situation only . Please keep in mind there are no parts stores and these nearly 60 year old dolls mostly all of them do have warped neck plates from years of play and storage and rusty eye mechanisms.  However, our dolls are amazingly restored by us under the worst of circumstances and we have added our own inventions within the dolls but we do not INSURE the parts that causes her movements. We  do not refund money once she is purchased from our Ebay Store.  We normally do not like listing on Ebay because we have enough traffic on our own, however we have met many nice people there and hope to meet more.  We have never been asked for a refund and we never will accept a doll back from Ebay because most do not read what we have to say.  Our collectors generally learn who we are and know our dolls are quality from our own site.

Those from our own site please note:  If you should have questions, feel free to contact us but please also read our Frequently Asked Questions page. Before you purchase her make sure you read our Refund Policy on our page linked below:
